Join us at Black Cat Fables for an evening of live poetry writing!
Celebrate poetry month with with local author Jeanelle Fu! Jeanelle will write live poems on the spot composed on a vintage typewriter on any topic - typewriter poetry is a great way to stay present, practice reflection and also bring back some much-needed whimsy into life. You can commission Jeanelle for a custom poem for $20!
Jeanelle will be at Black Cat Fables from 5-8pm and live poems are first-come, first-served.
When: Friday, April 17, 2026 from 5pm-8pm
Where: Black Cat Fables (415 S. Myrtle Avenue, Suite B, Monrovia, CA 91016)
Cost: $20 per poem
About Jeanelle:
Jeanelle Fu is a writer and typewriter poet. Her work "Blueprints" has been featured by Taiwanese-American.org, Yu & Me Books, Pon Ding and the LA County library. She has written for international brands such as Canada Goose and Anthropologie, and local non-profits Downtown Women's Center and Culture Shock LA. Jeanelle graduated from UCLA with a BA in English Literature and when not writing, enjoys dancing, hiking or rereading children's books.
