About Stephen McCarthy: Stephen "Steve" McCarthy is a retired history teacher, author, and photographer with a passion for exploring the backroads of the world. Beginning with his magazine column in 2006, he published his first travel guide, Road Trippin', in 2010, highlighting the best of the Western U.S.’s quirky motels, restaurants, and scenic byways. In 2016, he and his wife, Marianne, embarked on a six-week journey through Britain and Ireland in their 1960 Triumph TR3, chronicling the adventure in Road Trippin' – The Isles.
Stephen’s diverse writing also includes a series of spy thrillers, starting with The Old Farts Club, as well as poetry and photography books inspired by his travels. With over a decade of group drives and countless miles behind him, Stephen continues to share his love of history, storytelling, and discovery through his books.
